Kenneth Childs was born in Centerville, Iowa, October 21, 1909 and departed this life May 4, 1942 at Rochester, New York, being at the time of death 32 years 6 months and 12 days old.
He went to Rochester in 1931 and was employed with the Rochester Associated Laundries and for the past five years was route Supervisor. He was married to Miss Evelyn Morris, of Rochester, and one daughter, Rosylyn, age three, was born to them.
His sickness was of short duration, death being caused by pneumonia. At the age of fourteen years Kenneth was baptized into the Christian church at Moulton, Ia. He is survived by his wife and daughter, his mother Mrs. G. B. Lindsey of Dean and a step-brother Kris Lindsey and a step-sister Marguerite.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Hilltown Christian church conducted by the Rev. Luther W. Childs. An unusually large crowd was in attendance. Interment in the Hilltown cemetery.
The following letter was written to the young widow by the president of the Associated Laundries of America:

Dear Mrs. Childs:
I wish to extend my heartfelt sympathy to you in your loss of Kenneth. I thought a great deal of him and he will be a loss to our Rochester organization. Those in this office, who have become acquainted with him, join me in extending sincere sympathy to you and his mother.
