On 26 July 1905 Mr. Barker and Miss Ellen Johnson were united in marriage. Three years later they moved to a farm in Sac County, Iowa where they remained one year. From here they moved to a farm in Hayes township Ida County where Mr. Barker resided until 1941, when they moved to a home in Arthur. Mrs. Barker died in November 1926.
To this union three children were born: Elva Barker and Milford Barker, both of Arthur and Gertrude (Mrs. Lowell Sederberg) of Port Orchard, Washington. These 3 beside three grandchildren, Dean and Jimmy Barker and Jean Marie Sederberg survive.
Mr. Barker was a member of the Baptist church since 1900. When he moved to Arthur he transferred his membership to the Arthur Baptist church where he has been a faithful attendant, and also served as trustee and deacon for a number of years. He was active in community affairs and a member of the town council. Since his retirement he has spent much time with friends and giving his services when help was needed.
