Louisa Jane Munsey was the daughter of Captain Francis Asbury Munsey and his wife Catherine Grabeel. She was born near White Shoals, Lee County, Virginia, the third child of ten. Her siblings were: Jacob A.; Robert P.; [Louisa belongs here]; Rosannah C.; Joseph Grabeel (or Josephus) who married Mollie McDowell; Hannah A. who married John Street; Mary Catherine "Molly" who married Daniel Lyon; Martha Ellen/Ella who married John Walton Woodward; Sarah Octavia who married Thomas Orville Combs; and John F. Munsey who married Flora Bartley.

On 8 Oct 1874, Louisa Jane married Benjamin Franklin Blankenship in Lee County, Virginia. 1900 Census has them living in Paw Paw, Elk, Kansas.

Ten children, 9 males and 1 female, were born to this couple: Asbury, Luther, Charles Clay, Robert Francis, Wade Hampton, John B., Claude D., Ruby Catherine, Benjamin Butler, and George "Tony" Blankenship.

Benjamin died in 1921. The 1925 Census has two nieces living with Louisa at Howard, Elk, KS.
