Louis W. Abraham, 77, died Sept. 22, 2004, at home with his family.

He was born April 1, 1927, in Mallory, W.Va., to the late Ed and Louise Duty Abraham. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Annette Jean Abraham; two sisters, Della Jean Abraham Wilson and Betty Abraham Sparks; and one brother, Alex Abraham.

Survivors include his wife, Pearl Curry Abraham of Pleasant View; one son, William Kemal and his wife, LeHoma Browning Abraham of Chapmanville; one foster daughter, Della Curry Hughes of Hamlin; three grandsons, Louis Abraham and his wife, Megan Carney Adkins of Huntington, Shane Browning of Chapmanville and Donovan Abraham of Chapmanville; one granddaughter, Misty Darby Scarberry of Lesage; one great-granddaughter, Grace Adkins of Huntington; one step-great-great-granddaughter, Eva Scarberry of Lesage; many nieces and nephews; and his longtime friend, Johnny White of Man.

He graduated from Man High School in 1945. Mr. Abraham was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army from 1945 to 1947, and was a member of the American Legion Post 111. He was a public servant, having served in various capacities including Lincoln County commissioner for six years. He retired from the Division of Highways, where he was a supervisor of both the claims department and also dist-force.

He and his wife, owned and operated Annette's Drive Inn in West Hamlin for 33 years.
