Harriett married Alex Boyle in Texas where his family had moved in 1861 from Georgia via Arkansas. Harriett became a widow before 1900 and was left to care for four children. She made her living just as her husband had, by farming, both sons working along side her. They lived early on in Franklin county where the first two children were born ,Cora Ann and Joseph D. They resided in Wood County when Ella and Thomas were born.
Tommy and Ella stayed with their mother and I assume cared for her as in 1930 Tommy was head of house and Harriett and Ella lived with him, he was also a farmer.
