Mrs. Elmer (Myrtle) Adair, 92, of Abbott died Tuesday, October 1, at a West nursing home. She was born December 19, 1909 in McLennan County, daughter of Henry and Estelle Herbelin Willis. She was a member of West Church of Christ. She married Elmer Cevens Adair October 20, 1928 in West, and he preceded her in death June 20, 1998. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Dan Willis, Tom Willis, Clint Willis, Cecil Willis and Wendell Willis; and one sister, Ruby Arthur. Survivors include: two sons, Donald Ray Adair and wife, Wanda, of West and Carl Duane Adair of Waco; one daughter, Carolyn Joan Cosgrove and husband, Neil, of Yukon, Oklahoma; two sisters, Janell Hardwick of Elm Mott and Ruth Hardwick of Waco; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 5, at West Church of Christ with ministers Neil Cosgrove, Bob Martin and Andrew Kwast officiating. Burial was at White Rock Cemetery near Ross. Memorials may be made to West Public Library or West Ambulance Association.
