James William Alexander age 104 of Chester, Pa. went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2015 at Naamans Creek Country Manor in Garnett valley, Pa. Mr. Alexander was born in Bowman, Georgia to the late Peter Alexander and Sally Rucker Alexander and was educated in the public schools there as well. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Chester, Pa. for 83 years, and was the prayer meeting leader for over 50 years, and sang on the brotherhood male chorus where at one time he held the position as chaplain. Before his retirement, Mr. Alexander worked as a laborer at Atlantic Steel. He was an avid baseball fan.

Widower of Lula B. Alexander, Mr. Alexander was also pre-deceased by 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

Fond memories of Mr. Alexander will last forever in the hearts of his nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends, one grandson, and The Bethany Baptist Church Family.

Service: Friday July 3. 2015 11:00 am at Bethany Baptist 1121 Tilghman St. Chester, Pa. Viewing: 9:00 am - 11:00 am. No viewing after the eulogy. Interment: Haven Memorial Cemetery - Chester Township, Pa.
