Fulton – Richard K. Bennett, 72, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, in Virginia. He was born July 6, 1938, in Itawamba County to R.C. and Ruth Hillard Bennett. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and a truck driver. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed cooking.

Services were Jan. 14 at Senter Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with burial in Bourland Cemetery.

Survivors included two daughters, Sandy Pope (Ronnie) of Montpelier, Va., and Karla Robinson (Dustin) of Fulton: one son, Ricky Bennett (Lynn) of Fulton; six grandchildren, Drew Shumpert, Austin Pope, Nathan Bennett, Maddie Robinson, Nash Bennett, Gavin Robinson; the mother of his children, Linda Bennett of Fulton: three sisters, Francine Estes (Willie Gene) of Dorsey, Nancy Bean (David) and Nita Duncan, all of Fulton: five brothers, Donnie Bennett (Debra) and Nolan Bennett, all of Fulton, Pete Bennett of Water Valley, Jerry Bennett (Shelia) of Smithville and Tony Bennett of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Brandon Bennett.
