PEA RIDGE — Charles Jennings Adams, 85, of Pea Ridge, died Saturday, Aug. 13, at Mercy Medical Center in Rogers. He was born Sept. 16, 1925, at Pea Ridge, to Franklin Tobias Adams and Sarah Kate Lee Adams.

He served in the U.S. Navy stationed in the Philippines. After being discharged, he was one of six veterans to return to Pea Ridge High School to complete their education. He graduated in 1947.

He was manager of Farmers Exchange in Bentonville for 20 years and a member of First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge.

He was a big Razorback and St. Louis Cardinal fan and is preceded in death by two sons, Curtis Lynn Adams and Jerry Don Adams; his parents; five brothers and four sisters.

Survivors are his wife Mary Lee Adams of the home; a son, Mike Adams and wife Frances of Bella Vista; two grandsons, Joshua Adams and wife Amy of Fort Smith, and Nathan Adams and wife Lindsay of Bella Vista; two great-granddaughters, Sarah Grace Adams of Fort Smith, and Sidney Lynn Adams of Bella Vista; one great-grandson Evan David Adams of Bella Vista.

Funeral service is set for Tuesday, Aug. 16, 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge with Pastor Al Fowler officiating. Burial will be at Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation is set for Monday, Aug. 15, 6-7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church.
