She was born April 2, 1929 in Pea Ridge to Herbert Lee Givens and Lola Mabel Carden Givens. She graduated from Pea Ridge High School in 1947. On April 10, 1948 she married Charles Adams in West Chicago, Illinois and they were married 63 years before his death in 2011. The couple moved back to Pea Ridge where they made their home. She was employed at the Benton County Collectors Office as an Assistant Tax Collector for 23 ½ years before her retirement in 1991. She became a member of First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge in 1946 and is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charlie Adams and two sons, Curtis Lynn and Jerry Don Adams.
Survivors are a son Mike Adams (Frances) of Bella Vista; two grandchildren Josh Adams (Amy) of Ft. Smith and Nathan Adams (Lindsay) of Bentonville; two great-granddaughters Sarah Grace Adams of Ft. Smith and Sidney Lynn Adams of Bentonville, one great-grandson Evan David Adams of Bentonville; and her good friend of 60+ years Janella Buttry of Pea Ridge.
Service is set for 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 11 at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge with Pastor Al Fowler officiating. Arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge. Burial will be in the Pea Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7pm Monday, July 10 at First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge.
