BIG STONE GAP, Va. - Helen Louise Phillips, 48, Irondale community, died Friday (July 20, 2001) at her home.
She was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap, Va. She was co-owner of the Modern Barber Shop in Big Stone Gap, Va.
She was a member of the Irondale Primitive Baptist Church in Big Stone Gap, Va.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline (Blevins) Phillips; stepmother, Wilma Fern Phillips; and niece, Amy Denise Sturgill.
Surviving are her father, Billy James Phillips, Big Stone Gap, Va.; one sister, Joyce Sturgill, Big Stone Gap, Va.; three nieces, Darlene Begley, Tracy Fox and Raina Garrett, all of Big Stone Gap, Va.; and one nephew, Wendell Sturgill Jr., Bean Station, Tenn.
Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Holding Funeral Home, Big Stone Gap, Va.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Harold Gilley, the Rev. Wayne Gilley and the Rev. Clyde Phillips officiating.
Burial will follow at Blevins Cemetery in Mabe, Va.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Begley, David Fox, Brad Garrett, Wendell Sturgill Jr., Hershel Hayden and Paul Church.
