BIG STONE GAP, Va. — Joyce Ann Sturgill, 58, went to be with the Lord on Thursday (Oct. 21, 2010) at Lonesome Pine Hospital.
She was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap and attended the Zions Chapel Church in Big Stone Gap.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Denise Sturgill; her parents, Billy James Phillips and Pauline (Blevins) Phillips; and her sister, Helen Phillips.
Surviving are her longtime companion, Eddie Church; three daughters, Darlene (Arnie) Riggs, Tracy (David) Fox, and Raina (Brad) Garrett, all of Big Stone Gap; one son, Wendell Sturgill, Jr. of Rogersville; and five grandchildren, Andrew Begley, Austin and Autumn Garrett and Shea and Shenna Fox.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Roger Jenkins officiating.
Burial will follow in the Blevins Family Cemetery in Mabe, Va. Pallbearers will be Wendell Sturgill, Jr., David Fox, Brad Garrett, Austin Garrett, Andrew Begley, Eddie Church and Arnie Riggs.
Holding Funeral Home is serving the Sturgill family.
