Dennis J. Abrams 62, of Bloomfield, passed away at 9:08 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born July 17, 1947 in Greene County, he was the son of Amos and Ellen (Smith) Abrams.
He was a Fork Truck Operator for General Electric retiring in 2008 after 38 years of service, and worked part time for Eastern schools. He was a member of the Sharkey Trinity Pentecostal Church.
Surviving relatives include: his wife, Phyllis (Sciscoe) Abrams whom he married January 12, 1966; two sons, Travis Lee Abrams of Stinesville and Dennis J. Abrams II of Bloomfield; two daughters, Marsha Dawn Resler of Stinesville and Ellen Christine Memering of Bicknell; two brothers, Donald Abrams and Danny Abrams both of Bloomfield; two sisters, Betty Reed of Bloomfield and Delores Joan Carmichael of Stanford; nine grandchildren and nine great, grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Abrams.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Brother Steve Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove cemetery in rural Bloomfield.
