Information below from darla314 (#47987966):

This person could be collateral family to me
His father would be Jacob 84063780
mother Betsy, 84063911

He was born about 1817 Pennsylvania

I recd confirmation from a cousin which supports the link: Franklin HAFLICH left Mansfield, Ohio for California for the gold rush about 1849.
His father, Jacob Haflich, died in 1874. The estate took several years to settle. Franklin signed three acknowledgments that he received his portion of the estate. The first was 10 July 1876 in Sonoma, CA, Sugar Pine 20 June
1877, and Stockton on 6 May 1879.

Jacob in Stockton is assumed to be Franklin's brother Jacob. He is in Sacramento in 1850, not yet found in 1860. I have Jacob marrying Eliza Walsh(1830 Ireland-13 Mar 1916 CA) 21 Aug 1870 and a son William J born to them 7 Mar 1871 CA and died 19 Jan 1950. Jacob is in Stockton, CA 1879 per voter records. I can't find Jacob in 1880 census; he is not in Stockton with Eliza listed as head of house and married and Wm, son. I have a range for Jacob's death as 1884??-1888, Eliza is listed as the widow of Jacob in the 1888 Stockton city directory. Mrs Eliza and William J are listed in the Stockton directory in 1891 252 Lafayette. Neither of them seem to be entered into FindaGrave yet. If you have find cemetery records and could add any info I have created a memorial for Jacob 117843770 with known info and linked it to his parents.

I cannot find Frank/Franklin in 1870 census yet.
Frank was married 20 Nov 1845 Richland Co, OH to Amy Jane HARTUPEE (b12 Dec 1825 Ohio - d about 1854 Iowa?) Their three children are raised by her parents or other families thereafter in Richland Co, Ohio. Amy's burial is as yet unknown.
Jacob and Franklin have been merged in some family trees but they are both listed in father's will, along with brother Henry and sisters Leah and Elizabeth.

The son who came to settle the estate was probably Francis Harvey who was enumerated in Walnut, Brown, Kansas in later years. I have not found his memorial/burial yet but I have his date of death as 13 Oct 1919.

2/2018 From Mike Roberts #49159312: "A family history written in 1999 by a descendent of the Hartupee family indicates that Frank Haflich(k) was married to Amy Jane Hartupee (b. 1826 in Richland County, Ohio). Frank headed to the gold fields but then returned and moved the family to Iowa. Amy Jane died there in childbirth. The newborn child also passed away. Grandfather William Hartupee came and retrieved the three young children and took them back to Richland County, where he and his wife Rachel (Logan) raised them to adulthood."
