I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 2 Timothy 4:7. A devoted wife, loving mother and gracious friend, Julie passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at her home surrounded by family. She was a retired assistant manager with Shell Geismar Federal Credit Union and resident of Prairieville. Julie was 53 and a native of Baton Rouge.Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Thursday, October 18 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Visiting will resume on Friday at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales from 8 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Interment to follow in Oak Lane Memorial Park. She is survived by her adoring husband of 28 years, Glynn Blanchard; daughter, Heather Blanchard; son, Blaine "Bubba" Blanchard; father, Clyde A. Berthelot, Sr. and wife Gloria; two brothers, Clyde Berthelot, Jr. and wife, Maribeth and Chris Berthelot and wife, Charlotte; and her mother in law, Mildred Blanchard. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Altazin Berthelot and father in law, Philip Blanchard. Pallbearers will be Kenny Blanchard, Austin Berthelot, Ryan Berthelot, Matthew Ringe, Patrick Ringe, and Jeff Ringe. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to her devoted best friend, Melanie Day. There are no words to describe how much care and love you have shown us. We would also like to thank the doctors and staff of Pennington Cancer Research Center. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her honor to Hospice of Baton Rouge, 9063 Siegen Lane Baton Rouge, LA 70810 or to The American Cancer Society of Baton Rouge, 10528 Kentshire Court Baton Rouge, LA 70810.
