Seaman aboard the USS Vermont and USS Restless
On the application for his military headstone his birth year was listed as 1861. After the fact, the records were reviewed and the correct year was red-penciled in as 1862. In entering these memorials, I've found that some of the headstone ‘mistakes' were caught before the marker was made, most were not. I have left it as 1861 as anyone who might one day take a picture to add, will be searching by that year.
