s/o John Elisha & Emma Lee Hamlett Bailey. He was married to Lee Ilace Funderbunk on Nov. 22, 1946, at Blytheville.

Prededing him in death was a brother, Willie C. Bailey; a sister, Ruth Bailey Hampton; and a grandson, James D. "Jim" Homod.

He accepted the Lord and was baptized on March 17, 1947. He was a member of Micola Baptist Church from the time until he moved to Mississippi in 1964. He served as a Sunday school teacher for many, many years in Missouri, Mississippi and Georgia.

He was a retired farmer, 32nd degree Mason and Shriner and was a member of Spring River Baptist Church and an honorary member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a "people person" known for storytelling and jokes.

Buddy served his country in the Army in WWII. He entered active duty on Dec. 23, 1940, and was honorably discharged on Nov. 30, 1945, at Jefferson Barracks, MO. He was a member of Company A, 140th Infantry Division, and was stationed in England, France, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourgand Germany. He was awarded two bronze stars and was entitled to wear the American Theatre Campaign Ribbon, Eruopean Africal Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon, American Defense service rippon, three oveseas bars, and the Victory ribbon.

Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Lee Ilace Baile of Hardy; two sons, John S. "Steve" Bailey and his wife, Brenda, of Donalsonville, GA and EArl Douglas "Doug" Bailey and his wife, Geralyn, of Cordova, NC; one daughter, Barbara Ann Homod and husband John Charland, of Hardy; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
