Veteran of World War II. Served with the 82nd Airborne Division in the Glider Artillery. Recipient of four battle stars and a bronze arrowhead for serving with the Pathfinders who went ashore at Normandy in the first wave. Also the recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for Valor. Proud member of thte Chickasaw tribe and great, great grandson of trailblazer, Jesse Chisholm.

Preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Idabelle Rogers Asbury.
