MILO Funeral services for Lizzie Anderson, 83, will be 1 p.m. Monday at Jehovah Baptist Church with Pastor E.J. Toles as eulogist. Pastor Frank Lawson will officiate. Interment will follow at Jehovah Cemetery.

Mrs. Anderson, born June 6, 1923 in the Newport community to Linc Taylor and Roberta Pickens Stevenson, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 in the local hospital following a brief illness. A lifetime resident of Carter County, she and J.T. Anderson were married April 17, 1943. This union was blessed by the lives of 16 children.

Mrs. Anderson was a faithful member of St. Paul Baptist Church, under the leadership of the Rev. Fred Rushing. She later united with Mt. Olive Baptist Church, under the leadership of the Rev. E.J. Toles and remained dedicated until ill health prevented her attendance. She was a home health provider in her community. She enjoyed the worship services, gardening and her grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two infant children, a granddaughter, Jeralyn Lawson, a great-grandson, Kevondre' Williams, a brother, Willie, and both parents, she leaves to forever cherish precious memories: her husband, of the home in Springer, eight sons and daughters-in-law, Lincoln and Harolie Shannon, Oklahoma City, Tilman and Grace Shannon, Del City, James and Bonnie Anderson, Kansas City, Mo., Donald and Carolyn Anderson, Houston, Joseph and Debra Anderson, Milo, Floyd and Patricia Anderson, Denver, and Danny and Sharon Anderson, Ardmore; six daughters and sons-in-law, Ola King, Oklahoma City, Priscilla and Weston Stout, Gainesville, Fla., Lenora and Tilford Johnson, Milo, Linda Johnson, Milo, Merlene and Gerald Lawson, Ardmore, and Videll and Dennis Gay, Ardmore; three sisters, Essie Lawson and Esterine Scott, both Ardmore, and Rena Murphy, Blysville, Ark.; 75 grandchildren; 139 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
