Services for Rev. Mosievell Allen were Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the New Zion Baptist Church. Officiating was Rev. C.D. Lockhart, pastor.
Rev. Allen was born February 19, 1907, in Wortham, Texas, and died February 1, 1995. He came to Marietta in 1960 and pastored the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Rev. Allen also served as pastor of Baptist churches in Boswell and Bluff during his early ministry. He also worked several years at Marietta Sportswear and was lease owner of Mobil Gas Company. Rev. Allen had been a resident of Lake Country Manor in Marietta for the past five years. He married Grace Howard in 1966.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Allen of the home in Marietta; a brother, Joe L. Allen of Palo Alto, California; a sister, Annie Mae Kelley of Dallas, Texas; three step-children, Rebecca Halstied of Marietta, Royce Howard of Midwest City and Jacqueline Carter of Wright City; eight step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.
Services were directed by Kirk-Dawson-Dillard Funeral Home, Ardmore. Interment was in Prairie View Cemetery.
