He was the husband of Rosemary Bailey of the home and the son of the late William Bailey and Minnie (Stevens) Bailey.
A member of Care Baptist Church in Fairmont, he was the owner/operator of Lyman Citco and worked at Perks Duck In for 12 years.
Survivors also include two sons, Steve D. Bailey and wife Vicki of Duncan and Dale Garland Bailey and wife Debbie of Inman; five daughters, Shelia Walsh and husband Bill of Wellford, Vicki Waldorp of Lyman, Donna Bailey and husband Steve of Wellford, Christy Fayard of Reidville and Resa Erskine and husband Don of Wellford; a brother, John M. Bailey of Danville, VA; a sister, Hazel Baldock of Startex; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; best friend, Paul Killough; and his beloved cat, Ms. Purdy.
He was predeceased by a son, Joel Bailey; 2 granddaughters, Amanda Bailey and Brandy Bailey; 15 brothers and sisters; and his first wife, Natalie Miller.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm Friday, October 11, 2013 at the Stribling Funeral Home Chapel.
The family received friends 7:00 to 9:00 pm Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment was at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
