Walter Bendorf, 85, died Tuesday, Dec 8, 1992. Walter was born Nov 23, 1907, in Ober-Ramstadt, Germany. He came to America on March 4, 1929, and lived in Enid, Ok until 1936 when he moved to Oklahoma City and founded Berg-Dorf Pip & Supply Co. He was a member of Emanuel Synagogue and an active member of Temple B'nai Israel, a supporter of the Jewish Federation of Oklahoma City and a major donor to Hadassah. He was also a 50-year member of B'nai Brith, a mason, and a Shriner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bendorf; a sister, Bertha Bendorf; brothers, ritz, Louis and Otto Bendorf.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Joanna and Bill McClees; three grandchildren, Joseph Slosky, Tammara Slosky, and Jason McClees; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services 11 am Thursday at Temple B'nai Israel. Interment Temple B'nai Israel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Walter Bendorf Memorial Fund, c/o Temple B'nai Israel.
He was a loving and caring ma who will be missed by many.
