Oneita Ashby, 90, of Ardmore, OK was born July 4, 1921 in Denison, TX, the daughter of Clyde and Ouida Hopkins Daniel. She passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta.
Mrs. Ashby had made her home in Love County before moving to Ardmore in 2003. She and William J. Ashby were married in Grants Pass, OR on April 5, 1953, and he preceded her in death on September 25, 2002. Mrs. Ashby was employed as the gift shop manager at Lake Murray Lodge for 15 years. She was a member of the Eastman Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, were her parents; son, Ronald Black; four sisters, a brother and a great-granddaughter.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Black of Ardmore and Kem and Marlene Ashby of Roseville, CA; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Shirley Daniel of Santa Paula, CA; sister, Elaine Yount of Concord, NC; five granddaughters and 10 great-grandchildren.
