Velma was born May 4, 1925 on a farm in Clearwater, Kansas. She was one of three children born toher parents, Henry William Loger and Fern Caroline Maechtlen Loger. She received her education from Clearwater Schools, graduating from Clearwater High School. She continued her education for 2 years at Wesley School of Nursing.

On April 3, 1945, she was united in marriage to Charles William Aldridge, Jr, in the Chapel of Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. They moved to Rantoul, Illinois for 5 months until Charles's discharge from the Air Force. They moved back to Wichita and resided there the remainer of their lives together. Charles preceded her in death on October 29, 2009.

While in Rantoul, she worked as a Secretary for the Chanute AIr Force Base. From 1946-1949, she was a secretary for the IRS. She was a secretary for South High School in Wichita, Kansas from 1959-1977, before transferring to Administration of USD 259 where she remained until retirement in 1989.

Velma was a member of Central Community Church in Wichita. She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star, Ninnescah Chapter 423, of Clearwater. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, tole painting, and traveling when still able.

Preceded by: husband, Charles Aldridge, Jr.; daughter, Deborah Thole; parents, Henry and Fern Loger; brother, Dale Loger. Survivors; children: Kenton (Beverly) Aldridge of Jacksonville, Fl., Lynda (Gary) Mast of Derby; twin sister, Vera Kincheloe; son-in-law, Steve Thole; 6 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

Velma H. (Loger) Aldridge, 86, passed away Friday, December 16, 2011. Viewing: 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., no family present, Tuesday, at Webb-Shinkle Mortuary, Clearwater, Services: 11 am, Wednesday at Central Community Church, Wichita. Private Committal Service at later time. Memorial: Central Community Church, Motivator's Class, 6100 W. Maple, Wichita, KS 67209.
