Emma was a very devoted wife and made everyone she had a relationship with feel like special and unique individuals. She had a unique and unmistakable laugh.
Formerly a nurse assistant at Tendercare of Traverse City, Emma enjoyed helping others, especially reaching out to those in need. She was very generous in every way.
She is survived by her husband, Merle; three sisters, Maryann and Jenny, both of Montana, and Ramona of Kewadin; and special nieces and nephews, Naomi, Amanda, Jacob and Stefan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James, and a sister, Carol.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, at the Elk Rapids Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Dr. Daniel Herlein of the First Presbyterian Church of Elk Rapids officiating.
