Mrs. Aenis was born Jan. 17, 1905, in Banks Township, the daughter of Albert and Sarah Jane (McKinnon) Sinclair.
She resided in Central Lake until 1955 where she was a cook for the Central Lake Public Schools. She then moved to Traverse City where she was a dietary cook for Munson Medical Center until she retired in 1967, moving to Cadillac. In 1998 she made her home at Welcome Homes for the Visually Impaired in Grand Rapids.
In June of 1934 in Central Lake, she married Harold J. Aenis, who preceded her in death in 1952.
She is survived by three children, JoAnn (Raymond) Barley of Grand Rapids, Nancy J. Aenis of Traverse City, Thomas A. Aenis of Houghton Lake; three grandchildren, Belinda (David) Schuelke, Steven (Aimee) Barley and Mary Kate (Jeff) Jenkins; three great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Annabelle and Mariah Schuelke; and two step-great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Rebecah Potter.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Alex and Adam Sinclair; and a sister, Emily Spidel.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, Rev. Estel Clark officiating. Interment will be in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
