Alfred J. Addicott, 66, of 306 S. Bluff Trailer Court, a veteran of the English Royal Navy, died today at Beloit Hospital.
He came to the United States from England in 1947. He was a native of Cardiff, Wales, where he was born Dec, 20, 1902, the son of Alfred and Eliza Bull Addicott.
Mr. Addicott was a retired employe of General Motors in Janesville. He served 21 years in the English Royal Navy including service during World War II. In 1924 he was in the Navy on a goodwill tour around the road on the HMS Repulse. The Prince of Wales accompanied the Repulse on the tour.
Mr. Addicott was a member of the English Workingmans' Club.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mildred Unwin, whom he married in 1923 in London; a daughter, Mrs. Cliff (Jean) Snow of South Beloit; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A grandson, Bruce Snow, is deceased.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer Central Chapel, where visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Friday. The Rev. John Davis will officiate. Burial will be in Rockton Cemetery.
