Mrs. Keister was born in Posen, Germany, Feb. 5, 1875, and came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. August Schoen to United States in her girlhood. They resided about 20 years in Chicago, during which period she was united in marriage to Fred Black. They took up their residence in Nelson, where Mr. Black passed away in 1912. In 1915 she was united in marriage to Fred Keister, who preceded her in death about eight years ago.
Three sons, one daughter, one sister and one brother survive.

After attending the funeral of Mrs. Clara Keister, the following relatives returned to their homes in Chicago: Mr. & Mrs. J. Rippengill and children, Donald Black and George Keister and Mrs. Emma Goede.
