Doris Jean (Jeanie) Sigler Alexander, the youngest of five children, was born on September 11, 1925, in Pittsfield, IL to Coy and Myrtle Sigler. The Sigler family resided in Pittsfield and Jeanie graduated from the Pittsfield High School in 1943. She enrolled at Central Bible Institute in Springfield, MO and while there met handsome, young Frank M. Alexander and the couple eventually became engaged. Before graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard a ship during the latter part of WW II. Jeanie moved to Detroit, MI and lived with her older sister and husband, Lois and Roscoe Chalcraft during that time. She did her part for the war effort and began working in the factory helping to build the tail sections of B-52 bombers. She was a "Rosie the Riveter" during the remainder of WW II.
When Frank was discharged from the Navy at the conclusion of the war, Jeanie and Frank were married in her hometown of Pittsfield, IL on August 18, 1946. To this union, their oldest son, James was born in 1947 and in 1951, Mark was born. During those years, Frank worked at local businesses in Pittsfield and she supported his return to Bible School at Zion Bible Institute and Peniel Bible Institute in preparation for pastoral ministry.
Frank and Jeanie pastored their first church in Camden, IL and for the next 58 years, they pastored churches in CO, MI, NE, MT and KS. In April, 2008, Frank and Jeanie were honored by the General Council of the Assemblies of God for 50 years of ordained ministry. In 2013, Frank and Jeanie retired from full-time ministry after nearly a lifetime of service.
In addition to being a loving and exemplary pastor's wife, Jeanie was also skilled in the area of office management and secretarial work. While serving their church congregations, she also held several prestigious jobs working for an attorney and doctor, and worked in government and banking offices. She was the perfect role model in the churches she and Frank pastored and was loved by everyone in their churches. She had a special rapport with children and was often referred to as "Grandma Jeanie." She was an accomplished hostess and had a reputation of preparing delicious meals for the many guests who stayed in or were invited to their home. As a mom, it was important to her to attend as many of Jim and Mark's school activities and sporting events as possible.
Frank and Jeanie worked hard all of their lives but they also loved to travel and visited many special places in the United States and abroad. Frank loved to build houses with unique styles and Jeanie always supported his dreams. Following his death in August, 2013, Jeanie stated almost every day that she missed him. The couple was nearly inseparable for almost 67 years and now they are together again in Heaven.

Surviving her is her son Jim, grandchildren Crystal, Frank and his wife Stephanie, all of Russell, KS and great granddaughters McKenna and Lauryn. Also surviving is her son Mark and his wife Vickie of Battlefield, MO, her grandchildren Ryan of Springfield, MO and Cristi of Ozark, MO. Mourning her passing are many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 1:00 p.m., April 25, 2018 at the Evangelical Free Church in Franklin, Nebraska with Rev. Bill Stearn, Rev. Jim Alexander and Rev. Mark Alexander officiating. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Franklin.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud and Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. to service time at the church.
