Funeral Services were held Tuesday for Mrs. Sophie Heldt, one of Nordheim's pioneer residents. Rev. Heindrich of the Lutheran Church conducted impressive rites at the home and at the grave in St. Pauls Cemetery.
Mrs. Heldt, nee Sophie Peters, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Peters, was born on June 19, 1864, in Germany. She came to America with her parents when she was a child. They settled in Yorktown.
On December 17, 1882, she was united in marriage with F. Heldt. The couple lived on a farm in the Garfield community until 1901 when they moved to Norheim where the deceased lived until the time of her death on Monday, April 26, at 3:10 pm.
Six children were born to the union. One child and her husband preceded her death.
Thus closed another book of life on the pages of which are recorded the deeds of one of Nordheim's beloved pioneer residents, deeds of usefulness, charity, loyal friendship, considerate neighborliness and devotion to duty and the well being of her beloved family.
