Fanny Marchant's parents moved the family to Highland County, Ohio about 1813/14. Fanny was married to Mark Thurman on July 29, 1824. It has been said that they were married in Pittsylvania, Virginia, but they were likely married in Highland County, Ohio. Mark Thurman is believed to have been born c. October 3, 1802 in Highland County, Ohio.
Mark and Fanny, followed the Marchant family to Illinois in the 1820's, settling in Maquon Township of Knox County, Illinois about 1829. Their children are as follows;
When Fanny died on January 31, 1870 and her mortal remains were laid to rest with her first husband, Mark Thurman, in the Uniontown Cemetery. John Walter died on ____________ __, 19__ and his mortal remains were laid beside those of his first wife, Hannah (Sumner) Walter, in the Housh-Walter-Sumner Cemetery west of Maquon.
