Marriage - ERHARDT—SYLVESTER - A very pretty wedding took place at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, when Miss Dora Sylvester, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.P. Sylvester of Liberty Street became the bride of George Erhardt, Jr., son of Mr., and Mrs. George Erhardt of Oak Street. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Hanington Wilson. The maid of honor was Miss Marjorie Sylvester, sister of the bride, and the groom was attended by his brother, Jack Erhardt. Karl Erhardt and Clifford Elbert were ushers. Mrs. B. Sylvester, the bride's aunt, sang "Oh, Promise Me." The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in pale green chiffon with hat to match and carried a shower bouquet of roses and lilies of the valley. The maid of honor's dress was of pale blue chiffon with hat to match and her bouquet was of sweet peas. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride 's parents on Liberty Street. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. George Erhardt, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. George Laidlaw, Mr. and Mrs. Asa Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Erhardt, Mrs. George Oxley and son, Willoughby, Mrs. Emily Kearney and daughter, Edith, Harold Sylvester, Clifford Erhardt of Patchogue and Mr. and Mrs. B. Sylvester and daughter, Gladys, of South Longhorne, Pa. The couple are well known, the bride being an employee in the office of the Patchogue-Plymouth Mills and the groom is in the contracting business with his father. Upon their return from their wedding trip, they will reside on Church Street.
Obituary - GEORGE ERHARDT, 73, of Patchogue died Sunday at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital. Mr. Erhardt was born in Medford and was a member of the Patchogue Village Republican Club. He had been employed by the Town of Brookhaven as a building inspector. He is survived by his wife, Dora; a son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Hazel of Patchogue; two brothers, Karl and Jacob of Yaphank; a sister, Emily Griffith of Brookhaven; and by two grandchildren, Faith Marie and Frederick George Erhardt of Patchogue. Services were held yesterday morning at the Ruland Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Harry Sherman, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Patchogue. Interment followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Patchogue.
