George Adam Souder
Was born in Columbiana county, Ohio, Sept. 28, 1828, and died at his home in Angola, Indiana, June 4, 1905, aged 76 years, 7 month and 8 days.
When a small child he moved with parents to Crawford county, Ohio. He was one of a family of fourteen children. In July 1856, he was married to Mary Coberly, and to this union were born four children, Maggie, who died at age 17 years, Paul and Clement who died in infancy, and Nellie at the age of 20. In 1858 he moved to Steuben county, locating in Salem township. From there he moved to York in 1863, and again to Angola in 1904. On June 7, 1894, he joined in marriage with Myrtie C. Heath, and to this union were born two children, Hannah, dying in infancy, and Myrtie. Although his sufferings were severe, he was patient to the end. He leaves to mourn their loss the wife, daughter aged 7 and a step-daughter. He also leaves five sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services were held in the Powers church in York, conducted by Elder Vernon Stauffer.
