Alvin Chapin Brock was the oldest son of Walter B. and Mabel Louise Chapin.

He served with the 175th Infantry, Company, 29th Division during World War II. He was wounded in September 1944 but recovered and returned to battle where he was mortally wounded in Germany on November 17, 1944.

He was survived by his parents and siblings, Marian, Edith, Richard, Lawrence and Dorothy.
