Friedrich Schmid (her nephew, known as the "Father of Lutheranism in Michigan) confirmed her, performed her marriage, christened her 12 children, officiated at the first wedding in her family, that of her daughter, Louisa Heinrietta Schairer to Christian John Reimold, and in 1859 officiated at the burial of Martha Eva Schairer, the only one of her children who died before reachimg maturity.
