Eric Noel Turman was the son of Samuel Boykin Turman, Sr., and his wife Helen Reed Turman. He died of an accidental rifle shot to his heart when was just 22 years old.

"TURMAN - entered into rest Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock, Mr. Eric Noel Turman, son of the late Mr. S. B. Turman. He is survived by his mother Mrs. Helen Reed Turman; three sisters, Mrs. Edwin Lochridge, Mrs. Morris Markey, of New York City, and Miss Harriet Turman or Atlanta; three brothers, Mr. S.B. Turman, Jr., Mr. John Reed Turman and Mr. Edwin Turman, all of Atlanta. The remains will be carried to the residence on Andrews drive this morning awaiting funeral arrangements. Blanchard Bros., funeral directors, 878 Peachtree St."
