Mr. L. N. (Doc) Barnett departed this life Saturday, Aug. 4, 1973, at the Metzmeier Nursing Home. He had been in declining health for several months. Mr. Barnett was born Oct. 2, 1893, thus making him 79 years past at the time of his death. Mr. Barnett was the son of the late Sally Caffee Barnett and Mr. Jim Barnett and was one of nine children, six girls and three boys. Six sisters and two brothers preceded him in death earlier in life. Two half-brothers and one half-sister also preceded him in death. On Jan. 21, 1914, Mr. Barnett was united in marriage with Eliza Ethel Ford, and to this union seven children were born. One son, Howard Barnett, preceded him in death Oct. 28, 1972. Mr. Barnett is survived by his wife, Eliza Ethel Barnett, Rt. 1, C-ville, Mr. Alvin Barnett, C-ville, Mrs. Aaron (Hazel) Wright, Fairdale, Mrs. Charles (Barbara) Sprowles, Fairdale, Mrs. Don (Nadean) Antle, C-ville; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one half-brother, Mr. Frank Barnett, Fla.; and one half-sister, Mrs. Ida Castle, Calif. Mr. Barnett was a Christian having professed faith in Christ early in life and for many years had been a member of the Robinson Creek Baptist Church, serving as a deacon in the church since the time it was chartered in 1924. Pallbearers: Donnie Sprowles, Jerry Barnett, Hubert Barnett, Max Richerson, Jackie Wells, and Kenneth Barnett.
