Effie Myrtle (Doll) Pierce, 73, was born 6 Aug 1899 in Green Co., Ky. and departed this life at 10 am Mon. 5 Feb 1973 at the Adair Co. Memorial Hospital in Columbia, Ky. She professed faith in Christ early in life and joined the New Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Vernon Pierce, Rt. 1, Greensburg; 1 daughter: Mrs. Dorothy Houk, Greensburg; 2 sons: Ellis Pierce, and Pete Pierce, both of Campbellsville; 1 sister: Mrs. Mollie Altman, Greensburg, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2 pm Wed. 7 Feb 1973 at the Foster & Jones Funeral Home with burial in the Griffin Cem. Rev. E.T. Caffee and Rev. Wendell Hurt officiated.
