PIONEER RESIDENT PASSES AWAY
C. O. Kolle, a pioneer resident of Stony Brook township passed away at his home on Sunday, June 6 at 4:20 p.m. at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 25 days.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife and eight children all of which were at his bedside when he died. His brother, Ollis Evanson of St. Paul, was also with him in his last hours.
Mr. Kolle was born in Norderhov Prastegjeld, Ringevike Norway on March 11, 1845. He emigrated to America in 1866 and lived near Decorah, Iowa until 1873, when he came to Grant County where he has lived ever since with the exception of five years spent in Kittson County where he proved up on a claim.
On May 7, 1874 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Heier and eight children blessed the union all of which are living.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. Thorson of Elbow Lake from the house at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, June 8, from the Rock Prairie Church at 2 o'clock.
The remains were laid to rest in the Rock Prairie Cemetery.
Mr. Kolle was a respected citizen of his neighborhood and his death will be mourned by many. He was also active in church circles.
