William Oscar Gross passed away in Chicago on June 4, 2012 at the age of 93 after a long illness.

He was the son of Mary Ruth Embich and Chester Gross.

Born in Burlington, Iowa. Graduated from the University of Iowa and served in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater.

He worked for many years as a tool designer for the Aetna Bearing Co. on the Northwest side.

In 1946, he married Virginia Ruth Cahill of Chicago, who predeceased him in 2005.

Devoted father of Michael, Elizabeth, and Mary; beloved uncle to many nephews and nieces and a host of cousins.

Visitation on Friday, June 22nd, from 3 P.M. to 9 P.M. Funeral Saturday, June 23rd, from Alvarez Funeral Directors, 2500 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago at 11:30 A.M. Interment All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Rd., Desplaines, IL.
