Mr. Jimmie Thompson, 64, a retired farmer of Campbellsville, Rt. 1, son of the late Mr. James Thompson and Mrs. Amanda Price Thompson, was born in Taylor County, Dec. 2, 1913. He died at 11:20 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 20, 1978, at the Taylor County Hospital where he had been a patient for one week. He had professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Robinson Creek Baptist Church. He united in marriage to Miss Bessie Whitlock, Dec. 31, 1938. Besides his wife, Mrs. Bessie Whitlock Thompson of Campbellsville, Rt. 1, he is survived by three sons and four daughters: Mr. Gilbert Thompson, Mrs. Jean Burkhead, Mrs. Rebecca Spratt, Mrs. Patricia Gray, Mr. Terry Thompson, Mrs. Hilda Bell, and Mr. Phillip Thompson, all of Campbellsville. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister: Mrs. Stanley Reynolds of Campbellsville and Mr. Lonnie Thompson of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Chapel by Rev. Sam Sonders and Rev. Jessie Parker. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens.
