Louisa was the daughter of Abraham Ledden of Greenwich/Franklin Twp., Gloucester Co., NJ, and his wife Jane Bowers.
As a widow, following her (step-)daughter Sarah Ashcraft Campbell's death in 1868, Louisa Ashcraft and her other daughter Amanda Rush, also a widow, moved to Trenton to help raise the Campbell children.
Note: Louisa was interred first at Mercer Cemetery, Trenton, and then removed to Riverview Cemetery along with daughter Sarah Campbell after her son-in-law David Campbell's death in 1907 and the erection of a family monument there.
