David Brewer, 78, of Hodgenville, died Tuesday afternoon at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown where he had been a patient for several days. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie Underwood Brewer; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Cruse and Mrs. Dorothy Keith, both of Elizabethtown, Mrs. Ada Cruse and Mrs. Leona Allen, both of this city, and Mrs. Lorene Cline, of Alaska; two sons, Charles Brewer, of this city, and Howard Brewer of Bonnieville; 22 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and 5 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ermine Whitlock of Illinois. The body was brought to Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home, here. Burial will be at the Levelwood Church cemetery.
