Arelius Corns, a well known farmer and civil war veteran, died at his home near Buck Creek yesterday morning. He was a victim of paralysis, the first stroke seizing him last Wednesday. He was one of the first men in this locality to enlist in the civil war, having signed up April 16, 1861. Five children survive: Raymond and Edward, of Buck Creek; Cora, of Frankfort; Mark, of Brookston and Mrs. W.E.Auburn, of this city. Mr. Corns was a highly respected citizen and his death is greatly regretted. The funeral was conducted this afternoon at Americus, Rev. Rupley officiating.
