COMER,JOHN E a former resident of Page Co. died 02 Aug 2001 at the Aspinwall Progressive Care Center in Pittsburgh. He had suffered a stroke on 20 Feb 2001 from which he never recovered. Born 20 May 1917 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Frank Pierce Comer. He served in WWII & was a Prisoner of War. He later received the Bronze Star. Survived by his wife, Mildred Galbraith Comer, his caring son, Eddie & 2 grandchildren, Susan & Lee. Also surviving are his sisters, Mrs. Ray Huffman of Luray, Mrs. Fred Shuler of Elkton, Mrs. Bill Kammel of La Cross, Wisconsin, Mrs. Herman Cave of Stanley, Mrs. Landon Shackelford of Charlottesville, Dr. Margaret Kupiec of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Saul Robinson of Luray, Mrs. James Sepcic of McKeesport & his sisters-in-law, Mrs. Claude Comer of Stanley, Mrs. Frank Comer of Colonia Beach & many nieces & nephews in Page Co. & others throughout the Shenandoah Valley. Interment in the Mausoleum at Penn Lincoln Memorialo Park.
