He was born in Roane County, a son of the late Alonzo and Amma Belle Coen Kendall. He was retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways.
Surviving are his wife, Audra Sharp Kendall; five daughters, Mrs. Freda DePue, Miss Loretta Griffin, Mrs. Naomi Griffin all of Spencer, Mrs. Iris Greathouse of Dunbar, and Rose Kendall at home; a stepdaughter Dana Tolley of Spencer; two sons, Fenton Kendall at home and Karl Kendall of Zanesville; a brother, Omar Kendall of Spencer and 10 grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday August 27, 1983 in the Vandale Funeral Home with the Rev. John Bowen officiating. Burial was in the Morford Cemetery near Spencer. Viewing was held Friday August 26, 1983 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer.
