He owned and drove taxi cabs and was a repairman at an early age in Kansas in the 1940's - 1960's.

He married his 1st wife in the early 1940's and had 2 daughters, later divorced and married again in the mid 1950's and had one daughter (deceased) and one son.

Roy loved playing his guitar and singing with various groups at different functions. These groups/mostly friends and family members were country musicians. He and others would always sing and play at our family gatherings at the holidays.

He loved the outdoors and was interested in hunting and often hunted with his Uncle Ira who had hunting dogs (hounds). Roy also loved to fish and fished a lot when he had the opportunity.
