Leonard Roy "Mike" Baker, 84, of Lock Haven died Saturday, March 15, 1997, at home.

He was born Nov. 2, 1912, in Sun-bury, a son of the late Ollie R. and Marie Whalen Baker. On Oct. 23, 1937, he married Lauretta Foust, who survives at home.

He was a 1930 graduate of Wat-sontown High School, where he was very active in sports, having played basketball, baseball and football.

He worked for the former Philco Ford Co. in Watsontown. After moving to the Lock Haven area in 1941, he worked for Piper Aircraft for 35 years until retiring in 1975.

He was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Lock Haven.

He played on the Piper Aircraft softball and basketball teams and bowled in the Piper Aircraft leagues. He coached a Junior League softball team and enjoyed playing golf.

He is survived by a daughter, Janis Baker of Rochester, N.Y.; two brothers, Floyd of Lancaster and Gene of Chesapeake, Va.
