Floyd R. Stewart, age 80, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Rimersburg, Pa. on February 23, 1932, son of the late Kenneth and Sara Kathryn Haggerty Stewart. Mr. Stewart was employed at Zurn Industries for 39 years as a machinist until his retirement in 1994. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Tenth Street United Methodist Church, President of the Christian Concern Class, and a volunteer for the coffee hour at the church. He was also communion steward with his daughters, Louise and Michele, and head usher. He loved bowling and was a life member of the Fulton Club. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and William Stewart. Floyd is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois Snyder Stewart; four daughters, Jayne Cutter (David), Louise Stewart, Roberta Snyder (Edward) and Michele Stewart all of Erie; three sisters, Doretha Morosky (Phillip) of Erie, Dolores Mohney (James) of Hawthorn, Pa. and Joan Mohney of Butler, Pa.; four grandchildren, Thomas Klie (Alexandria), John Cutter, Amanda Snyder and Tiffany Snyder; and one great-granddaughter, Hazel Cutter. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday at 11 a.m. at Tenth Street Untied Methodist Church, 538 East 10th Street. Interment will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Erie Crawford County Veterans Burial Detail.
