"BROWN - Judith, wife of Benjamin F [sic] Brown, of Suisun Valley, Solano Co, Ca, was born in Albemarle County, VA, 2 May 1792; was the daughter of William Fretwell, Esq, and was married to her surviving husband 23 Dec 1817. In 1826, in the company with her husband, she emigrated to Saline County, MO, thence, in 1836 to Lawrence county, and from thence to CA in 1852. She was the mother of 9 children - 3 sons and 6 daughters - all of whom are living excepting one son. Many ambassadors of Christ, both in MO and CA, can testify to the generous hospitalities extended them by these aged Christians, mother and father Brown. She died 13 Feb 1870. Rev Samuel Brown delivered a funeral discourse in Stone Church." Spectator" - T H B Anderson.
